Small Heath School pupil wins Birmingham heat of Future Chef 2012 Competition
Sidrah Zahid a GCSE student at Small Heath School has won the Birmingham heat of the prestigious Future Chef 2012 competition for 12-16 year-olds.
Sidrah, who has been mentored by Brett Sandland (Head Chef at the Hyatt Aria, started cooking at the age of 14. Her love of food which was developed during Food Technology lessons – and she particularly ennjoys cooking Italian food.
Sidrah’s favourite chef is Akhtar Islam from Lasan.
Springboard’s Future Chef helps young people aged 12-16 to learn to cook. It inspires them to explore food and cooking as a life skill by developing their culinary talent and informing them about entry routes into the hospitality industry.
The regional finals take place in Jan 2012 – we wish her well.
