The Restaurant at The Malvern Spa
Although water healing in Malvern has been around for centuries, there’s been no spa in the town since 1910…until now, that is! The opening of the Malvern Spa Hotel has regenerated this ancient tradition in a truly spectacular way.
Step out of a hectic world and into a realm of airy tranquillity. This luxurious boutique hotel and world-class spa opened in August 2008 in a newly built, sleek urban building.
The hotel and spa caters for over 18s only so guests have a great excuse to leave the children with their grandparents and head off to Malvern for a perfect pampering experience. Local attractions include Malvern Priory, Upton-upon-Severn and the glorious Malvern Hills. The Three Counties Showground is right on the doorstep and the historic market towns of Ledbury and Worcester are a short drive away.
The 32 en-suite bedrooms are spacious and minimalist in design, equipped with modern facilities including plasma televisions, wifi and power showers, and we slept incredibly well in the comfortable beds. Some bedrooms have been specially designed to cater for the needs of guests with mixed abilities, and we found the hotel staff to be unfailingly friendly and approachable. The Gallery Restaurant offers great dining at a very fair price. There are many mouth-watering choices on the menu and vegetarians are well catered for. Sandwiches, salads and snacks are available in the bright and welcoming Brasserie. Guests can also dine outside in a small terraced area.
The spacious spa area has a large gym furnished with advanced state-of-the- art equipment and there’s a wide range of fitness classes on offer. There is a spectacular hydrotherapy pool, which is filled with pure filtered Malvern water – guests can swim from the indoor pool to the outside pool through a connecting channel and it’s a wonderful spot for lying back and admiring the views of the nearby Malvern Hills. After bathing, relax in the Kilo Sauna, furnished with wood sourced from the Antarctic. Guests can also enjoy the beautifully lit and atmospheric steam room. The Jerusalem marble flooring adds an extra hint of luxury and the changing rooms provide some thoughtful touches such as hair straighteners and private shower cubicles.
