New Manager and Menu at The White Horse at Balsall Common

2nd May 2017

The White Horse in Balsall Common welcomes a new Manager and its new Summer menu this month.

The pub and restaurant on the Kenilworth Road has appointed Luke Hawkins as General Manager. Bringing a wealth of hospitality knowledge and experience, Luke, from Solihull, has already introduced fresh ideas – including live music, tempting dining and drinking offers and events and a new cheeky cocktail list.

The Summer menu has also arrived at the contemporary venue – with a funky new ‘Street Food’ section featuring dishes inspired by Rich Clarke of ‘Chef Shack’ – a ‘mate of The White Horse’. His tasty plates of Chicken Wings, Sriracha Chilli and Korean Ketchup and Panko Chicken Burger sit alongside the pub’s popular sharers, pies, pizzas, pastas and traditional mains.

New dishes on the Summer menu include Oven Baked, Tomato & Chilli King Prawns with Dipping Bread; Chargrilled ‘Tomahawk’ Pork Chop, Rustic Chips, Honey Mustard Sauce; Sweet Potato, Chickpea & Spinach Moroccan Curry, Flatbread and Mint Yoghurt; Superfood Salad, Chicken, Cous Cous, Kale, Pomegranate and Lemon.

Check out the new White Horse menu here and don’t forget your Gastro Card discount of 25% off food (NB offer not in conjunction with another food offer)

There is also a cheeky 2 for 1 cocktail offer ever Saturday – It would be rude not too!

We’ve launched some new cocktails at The White Horse, Balsall Common and they’re all two for the price of one
from noon until close every Saturday!
And, they don’t have to be two of the same cocktails either.
Our cheeky list includes:
Amaretto Sour
Sparkling Pornstar
Dark & Stormy
Tequila Sunrise
Cocktails are priced at £5.95 each –
or £5.95 for two if you’re popping by any Saturday!

Desserts have been given a seasonal twist too with hot puddings and pies being replaced by berries, tarts and fruity sundaes – made with Joe Deluccis Gelato, remarkable Italian ice cream.

Luke commented: “I’m delighted to have joined the team at The White Horse and look forward to adding my personal touch to this popular village pub.

“As we head into the Summer months we want to add to our casual dining offering, food which can be enjoyed in a relaxed, chilled out way . Our outdoor terrace is the perfect place to enjoy a sharer, a couple of pizzas or some ‘street food’.

“Live acoustic music returns at the end of the month and we’ve launched a new cocktail list, with a 2-4-1 offer all day every Saturday – we’ll be adding more tempting creations throughout the Summer . Our fabulous dining discounts have been updated too.

“We’re also looking to introduce ‘Gin of the Week’ and some spirit based events soon, so watch this space!”

The White Horse’s next live music session is on Bank Holiday weekend, Sunday 28 May with Jupyter on from 7.30pm.

A traditional country pub with a modern feel, The White Horse serves fresh and homemade food. A private function room, gardens and decking are all available to hire with menu and drinks packages tailored to personal requirements.

Luke Hawkins is from Solihull and married with two young children.
