Hospitality leaders shortlisted for this weekend’s Birmingham Awards at The Vox

bham-logoThe 2016 Birmingham Awards Dinner will take place this weekend at The Vox Conference Centre with three Solihull business people making the shortlist.

Anita Champaneri, MD of PR and Events Company Delicious PR, is shortlisted for the Excellence In Media category. Anita, a former TV producer with ITV and BBC started her company 10 years ago specialising in restaurant and hospitality PR.

Torquil Chidwick, owner of Sabai Sabai restaurant group is shortlisted for Businessman of the Year. Torquil who started the Thai restaurant group with his wife Juree over 10 years ago has just opened his third venue in Stratford Upon Avon this week.

Tony Elvin, who lives in Shirley, is General Manager of Hotel du Vin in the city and is also up for Businessman of the Year. Tony who was the former GM of the Village Hotel, Shirley five years ago, recently won General Manager of the Year at The Birmingham Food Drink & Hospitality Awards in June.

The hotel is up for Business of the Year and its ‘Bubble Lounge’ is also up for Pub of the Year.

Other favourites in the running for Best Restaurant include : Aria Restaurant at the Hyatt Regency, El Borracho de Oro, Jilabi Indian Restaurant, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Opus Restaurant.

The Birmingham Awards will be recognising people and businesses that have been part of the positive profile of Birmingham’s future. 

Birmingham Awards is a black tie event with reception drinks starting at 6.00pm at the Highline Bar in Resorts World followed by the awards ceremony itself.
