Gastro Card pub in final four

23rd November 2010

The Peacock at Oxhill, on the outskirts of Stratford, has been named in the final four of the National Food Pub of the Year in The Publican’s Food and Drink Awards for 2010.

Thousands of pubs throughout the UK enter the awards, possibly the most prestigious within the pub industry, and the winners will finally be announced on Thursday November 25 at presentation evening at Park Lane’s Intercontinental Hotel.

A long-standing partner restaurant with the Gastro Card, The Peacock, which was taken over by Pam Farrell and Yvonne Hamlett two years ago, has been no stranger to awards in recent times, marking up several national and regional accolades.

“This one really is special,” says chef Yvonne. “To actually make the last four nationally is already a great honour, the win the award would be amazing.”
