El Borracho Del Oro announce plans for a Food Fiesta for World Tapas Day
Small plates are about to get a big honour because Spain has decided to recognise tapas with its own international day of celebration.
Not one to miss out on a celebration, local Spanish restaurant El Borracho Del Oro has signed up to participate in the first ever World Tapas Day when it rolls around for the first time on Thursday, 16th June in 2016.
It will also be a chance to say ‘Feliz Cumpleanos’ as the event will also be marking El Borracho’s 1st birthday.
Owner, Emma Yufera Ruiz says “Tapas is a symbol of Spain and because it is representative of Spanish cuisine in miniature, it is a great way to try a whole plethora of fabulous dishes.”
Born and raised in Barcelona, El Borracho’s Head Chef, Ignacio Castells, is a proud Catalan, taught by one of the region’s finest and at the restaurant, not only will you be able to enjoy some great tapas but some fine wine too. The 2012 Malbec is a particular favourite with regulars and goes well with any chicken dish.
Ignacio will be offering diners a fiesta of fabulous food from his home region of Catalan and other Spanish favourites such as Jamón Croquetas, Pork and Beef Meatballs; Marinated Spicy Chicken Wings, Fried Potatoes, Iberian Pork Ribs with Catalan Beans and Chorizo Sausage cooked in Red Wine. There will also be a massive paella stand on the terrace for all to enjoy and live Latin music to dance the summer night away.
Tickets for the 1st birthday celebration on World Tapas Day are £20
