50% off wines this August at Opus Restaurant
General Manager Pawel at Opus Restaurant has chosen a lovely selection of wines at 50% off for the month of August. It includes a range to cover most tastes, from lighter summery whites, to fruity cherry-like reds and rose wines. The wines are chosen to match dishes from the Opus Restaurant menu, brimming with summer produce. For example, Willow’s End Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough is herbaceous and grassy on the nose with tropical and gooseberry flavours on the palate.
Ideal with many fish dishes such as day boat cod fillet, hand-dived Brixham scallops or grilled plaice with lemon and brown shrimp butter. Normal price is £30 per bottle, reduced to £15 per bottle.
The Etna Rosso from the Alta Mora estate on the foothills of Mt. Etna in Sicily, is made from the Nerello Mascalese, a black grape indigenous to the area. Similar to Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo with spicy pepper aromas and blackcurrant mountain herbs, it is velvety and soft. Reduced from £41 to £20.50 per bottle, ideal with breast of duck served with heritage carrots and Pershore cherry puree, or Jimmy Butler’s pork cutlet.
Continue to celebrate weekends with Opus Restaurant summer offer of a dozen Carlingford rock oysters complimentary with every bottle of champagne purchased. The perfect appetiser to be shared in their classy bar or enjoyed at the table on arrival. Carlingford is a family owned oyster farm on the North-East coast of Ireland. Available every Friday and Saturday in August.
