Popular dishes include fillet of beef with bubble and squeak beignet and port wine jus; pancetta-wrapped monkfish with smoked bacon cream; and wild mushroom ravioli with cepe veloute.

Hamon’s Restaurant @ The Parc Hotel

A visit to Hamon’s is an extremely pleasant experience. Not just because the food is worthy of being served in the most lauded restaurants in the country, but also because you almost believe you are in one of them, with the elegant but subtle décor, quiet, efficient and accommodating service, and comfortable surroundings, complemented by imaginative and unobtrusive lighting.

Meals begin with complimentary freshly-baked bread rolls swiftly followed by your starter, which could be the tender quail breast salad with raspberry vinaigrette , or richly-flavoured shellfish bisque. Choosing between mains is a difficult decision to make, but the noisette of lamb with Jersey royal potatoes, carrots, beans & red wine jus comes highly recommended, as does the portobello mushroom & pant mawr goats cheese, with mixed leaves, poached egg, new potatoes & grain mustard hollandaise.

The selection of desserts may provoke yet more difficult choices, as even stomachs previously decided to be full may be swayed to make room for such delightful temptations as Raspberry Crème Brûlée with shortbread & elderflower sorbet or the Iced Nougat Parfait with chocolate crisp, poached blueberries & cassis sorbet.

All this is complemented by a varied and accommodating wine list with wines from all over the world, meaning there is something for every palate and every pocket. This restaurant is a real find for those looking for an exceptional but affordable meal.

The Gallery Restaurant at Malvern Spa Hotel

Although water healing in Malvern has been around for centuries, there’s been no spa in the town since 1910…until now, that is! The opening of the Malvern Spa Hotel has regenerated this ancient tradition in a truly spectacular way.

Step out of a hectic world and into a realm of airy tranquillity. This luxurious boutique hotel and world-class spa opened in August 2008 in a newly built, sleek urban building.

The hotel and spa caters for over 18s only so guests have a great excuse to leave the children with their grandparents and head off to Malvern for a perfect pampering experience. Local attractions include Malvern Priory, Upton-upon-Severn and the glorious Malvern Hills. The Three Counties Showground is right on the doorstep and the historic market towns of Ledbury and Worcester are a short drive away.

The 32 en-suite bedrooms are spacious and minimalist in design, equipped with modern facilities including plasma televisions, wifi and power showers, and we slept incredibly well in the comfortable beds. Some bedrooms have been specially designed to cater for the needs of guests with mixed abilities, and we found the hotel staff to be unfailingly friendly and approachable. The Gallery Restaurant offers great dining at a very fair price. There are many mouth-watering choices on the menu and vegetarians are well catered for. Sandwiches, salads and snacks are available in the bright and welcoming Brasserie.

The spacious spa area has a large gym furnished with advanced state-of-the- art equipment and there’s a wide range of fitness classes on offer. There is a spectacular hydrotherapy pool, which is filled with pure filtered Malvern water – guests can swim from the indoor pool to the outside pool through a connecting channel and it’s a wonderful spot for lying back and admiring the views of the nearby Malvern Hills. After bathing, relax in the Kilo Sauna, furnished with wood sourced from the Antarctic. Guests can also enjoy the beautifully lit and atmospheric steam room. The Jerusalem marble flooring adds an extra hint of luxury and the changing rooms provide some thoughtful touches such as hair straighteners and private shower cubicles.

Du Vall’s Restaurant at The Holt Hotel

The Holt is a beautifully refurbished traditional coaching inn dating back to the 15th century with all the comforts of a modern hotel. Nestling on the edge of the Cotswolds in picturesque Oxfordshire, ideally situated close to the M40 and to many local attractions such as the city of Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bicester Designer Outlet Shopping Village.

Serving the warmest hospitality since 1475, from its early days as a coaching inn, the Holt has been one of the most popular hotels in Oxfordshire and not always with the most honourable clientele. Notorious highwayman Claude Du Vall often frequented the inn, spending his ill-gotten gains from the road, and is said to haunt the hotel to this day.

With accommodation varying from single rooms to four-poster bedrooms with Jacuzzi, the Holt’s facilities will satisfy the most demanding traveller. An enviable reputation for its conferences and seminars in a choice of nine suites, all with natural daylight and a range of overnight packages, you may rest assured we know what we’re doing. Weddings are a delight at the Holt and with a licence to hold civil ceremonies our expertise and experience will guide you through your special day.

The Holt began life as a small trading post with a mere 6 bedrooms. This is a far cry from the 86 bedrooms now under its roof; however the charm and character of the building are still intact. Being independently run, The Holt is able to adopt an innovative approach, tailoring is services to suit the needs of every guest.

Diners can relax and enjoy the ambiance of the award winning AA Rosette Du Vall’s Restaurant which offers extensive a la Carte and Table d’hôte menus. These are accompanied by a fine wine selection from around the world by the glass or bottle, or a magnum for that special occasion.
