The Old Pump

It is the aim of the management and staff of The Old Pump Restaurant to make dining there a special experience!

The restaurant has a traditional feel to it and is warm and welcoming.  The staff are friendly and attentive.  The Old Pump boasts a wide and varied choice of both traditional and contemporary food and also has a large selection of tasty vegetarian dishes.  Gluten free dishes are available.

All the meals are freshly prepared on the premises using locally sourced produce where possible.

Breakfast is served between 10.00am and noon every morning and the menu includes a hearty full English breakfast to start the day as well as a number of lighter options.

The lunchtime menu is available between midday and 6pm, Monday to Saturday.  This offers the diner a choice of a la carte dishes including a variety of main courses, a selection of salads, baguettes and toasties.  Alternatively, there is the ‘Heavenly Food Menu’ which offers several choices of dishes at fixed prices depending on the number of courses taken.  Please refer to ‘Our Menus’ for copies of the menu and prices.

On Friday is the ever popular ‘Fishy Friday Special’ comprising of the fish of the day, home-made chips and garden or mushy peas, with bread and butter and a cup of tea all for a fixed price.  Extended into the evening, for a nominal increase in price, a glass of wine replaces the cup of tea.

The evening menu comes into play between 6pm and 9pm, Monday to Saturday and offers a selection of mouthwatering dishes, all specially prepared and beautifully presented.

Each week there are a number of ‘Specials’ available at both lunchtime and evening.  These are clearly marked on the blackboard in the restaurant.

A range of speciality teas and a selection of over twenty different coffees, including ‘floater’ coffees are available throughout the day.
