Chennai Indian Cuisine
Chennai Indian Cuisine Restaurant is an oasis of Indian Cuisine set in the rural Worcestershire countryside – having such an idyllic location has enabled Chennai to develop its own image and atmosphere.
It is far removed from the normal stereotypical image of an Indian Restaurant and it has developed a loyal following of regular customers who appreciate the fine food and friendly atmosphere.
Chennai Indian Cuisine Restaurant was founded in June 2003; the two partners in the business – Sri Gobinda DEB and Nickil Ranjan DAS, have over 60 years combined experience of working in the catering and hospitality trade.
When opening Chennai Indian Restaurant their aim was to provide their clients with the ultimate dining experience; allowing them to experience authentic Indian and Asian cuisine, whilst being served and eating in a modern contemporary fine dining setting. This they have clearly achieved.
From the beginning the restaurant’s kitchen has been under the control of Head Chef Nazul Islam, who has worked in the catering industry for over 20 years. He has experience and knowledge in blending herbs and spices which give the authentic taste to the dishes he produces. Nazul’s skill and professionalism enable him to cook and present dishes so that they are a pleasure to all three senses – look, aroma and taste.
Why the name ‘Chennai Indian Cuisine’
‘Chennai’ is a large India city which was formerly called ‘Madras’. The city has been present in India since times immemorial and is also the capital of Tamil Nadu district. The city lies on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal and is often termed as the ‘Gateway to the South India’. What is known about Madras, presently serves as the history of the modern city of Chennai. The most admirable feature of the former city of Madras was that all the people lived there in perfect harmony.
The district of Tamil Nadu is known for its hospitality and traditional food. People in the state are of the belief that serving food to others is a service to mankind. As the city of ‘Chennai’ is renowned for ‘Harmony’ ‘Hospitality’ ‘Traditional Food’ and the belief in serving food to others, this fitted perfectly into ethos that Gobinda and Nickil wanted for their restaurant. The choice of name was quite simple. This fortifies the fact that the eating experience in the ‘Chennai Restaurant’ will definitely be an unforgettable one.
