Turners of Harborne

Turners opened in July 2007 by Chef Richard Turner and business partner Nick Cruddington. The aim was simple, to offer serious food at reasonable prices in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service possible.

Since the restaurant opened it has received much praise from the media and public alike and in January 2009 Turners became one of only 3 restaurants in Birmingham to be awarded a coveted Michelin star.

Despite all its awards and rave reviews Richard Turner still believes in the philosophies he had when he opened the restaurant. He believes that looking after his customers and using the freshest seasonal produce is the real reason for Turners Success.

The 2009 Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland has awarded Richard Turner, a former Midlands Chef of the Year, the prestigious Michelin star for his outstanding cooking.

Richard said: ‘What this proves is that you can open a little restaurant and if you offer good food at reasonable prices and you do the things a restaurant is meant to do, then Michelin will reward you.’

Turners offers international dishes of such style and delicacy, that they wouldn’t be out of place in a fine-dining restaurant. Richard’s skill with pasta, in particular, is legendary, while the service is competent and polite.

Harborne residents are very lucky and are beating a path to Turners door, so booking is essential.
